She first received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Raj Kumari Amrit Kaur, College of Nursing in New Delhi, India. Afterward, she obtained her Certification in a Women’s Health Care Nurse Practitioner from the UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, and a Master of Science in Nursing with a major in Family Nurse Practice from the Texas Woman’s University in Dallas, Texas. She also acquired a Doctorate in Nursing Practice with a distinct honor from the Chamberlain College of Nursing in October 2017. In 2021, she obtained post doctorate Mental health nurse practitioner certification (PMHNP-BC) from Brandman University.
Vishnu Maya Upadhyay’s qualifications for operating her own clinic stems from her strong background in creating, implementing, and administering patient care in family and women’s health clinics for over 13 years. She is highly skilled and equipped with knowledge in providing health care. She possesses detailed knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, and JCAHO accreditations and has excellent time management and supervisory skills to direct the support staff, medical assistant externs, as well as nursing and nurse practitioner students.
Vishnu Upadhyay has several honors under her belt. In 2007, she was a recipient of an Outstanding Nurse Practitioner Student Scholarship by the North Texas Nurse Practitioners organization. In 2007-2008, she was also a recipient of an Advanced Education Nursing Traineeship by the Department of Health and Human Services. She has been awarded as the Best Nurse Practitioner Preceptor by several nurse practitioner universities and TNP(Texas Nurse Practitioner) and was recognized as the Nurse Practitioner of the Year in 2020 by North Texas Nurse Practitioner (NTNP).
Her vast experience in overall medical family and women’s health practice has led her to author a professional paper entitled “Assessment of Grief after Miscarriage using Perinatal Bereavement Scale for Advanced Nurse Practitioners.”
